FAQs - Bicycle Street Inn

There are two ferry lines that can get you to Mackinac Island.  We recommend Shepler’s Ferry and they are located across the street from our main Bicycle Street Inn building and next to our Waterfront Collections.  You can also fly to Mackinac Island on either Great Lakes Air or Fresh Air Aviation.

The location of your check-in at Bicycle Street Inn will depend on your where your room is located.  If you have reserved a room in our main Bicycle Street Inn building (your room type will start with a B) you will check in at our front desk in our main building across the street from Shepler’s Ferry dock.  If you are in one of our Waterfront Collections (your room type will start with a W) you will check in at our Waterfront Collection South front desk located just 10 steps to the left of Shepler’s Ferry dock.

Our Bicycle Street Inn porters will bring your luggage to the hotel when you arrive on Mackinac Island.  When you depart the island, our porters will take your belongings to the ferry dock and they will be shipped over to the mainland to await pickup. Leave the heavy lifting to us!

The typical cancellation policy for a reservation at Bicycle Street Inn & Suites and Waterfront Collection is by 3:00 pm, 72 hours prior to arrival.  If you cancel prior to that time, you will receive a full refund of your deposit, minus a $25.00 transaction fee.  If you cancel within that 72-hour period, the reservation will be non-refundable.  There are exceptions to this policy if you are coming for a special event or holiday.  Please check your confirmation for the exact policy for your stay or give us a call at the hotel to clarify.

Due to the location of Bicycle Street Inn, there is no convenient area for your pet to relieve themselves.  For this reason, we do not allow pets in any of our buildings.  We do allow service animals in accordance with ADA requirements.  (Emotional Support animals are not permitted.)

Bicycle Street Inn has indoor parking for your bikes! There are two parking garages that you can use during your stay.  One is located in the Lower Level of our main building and is accessed through our elevator.  Just hop in and press the B button.  Parking is located just across from the elevator and is accessed with your room key.  In our Waterfront Collection South, our bike parking is located just off of Hoban Alley.  Check with the front desk for the location.  It is also a locked storage area that you can access with your room key.

Bicycle Street Inn has several accessible rooms to choose from.  Elevators are available to all of these rooms and some have roll-in showers.  Call to make your reservation so our helpful reservationists can help you decide which room type will work best for you.

Pack ‘n’ plays are available at Bicycle Street Inn for no charge.  Just let us know prior to your arrival that you will need one and we will have it in your room when you check in.  We have several, so don’t worry about us running out.  And if you have twins – you can have two!

At Bicycle Street Inn, check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 11:00 am.  New for 2021, we are offering guaranteed early check-in and late check-out for a small fee.  Some restrictions apply, so check with our front desk when making your reservation.

Bicycle Street Inn opens the first weekend in May each year and ends the season towards the end of October.

Due to dining room restrictions and safety protocols, we have updated our breakfast service.  Wake Up with Winchester’s at Winchester’s Bistro opened on April 30, 2021 to offer an express breakfast.  Here guests can purchase a variety of breakfast items including souffles, pastries, overnight oats, yogurt parfaits, fruit, and beverages.  Guests are welcome to enjoy these items in Winchester’s, in their room, or on-the-go as they begin their day of island activities. Breakfast is available 7-10:30 am and a Grab & Go lunch is served from 11 am – 2 pm.  As always, Bicycle Street Inn guests will enjoy special discounts at Winchester’s Bistro.
